Purpose of the Working Group
In addition to broad public outreach, Reclamation is establishing a working group comprised of interested stakeholders and subject matter experts to provide input during the draft RMP process. The main purpose of the working group is to develop a problem statement and identify issues, opportunities, and potential management directions to be presented in the draft RMP. The working group is not intended to advise Reclamation’s management team on draft RMP direction or to develop consensus among the participants of the working group regarding any issue or alternative. Rather, members of the working group should be prepared and ready to provide their expertise related to resources or issues in the project area, which Reclamation will take into consideration while developing the draft RMP.
Working Group Selection
Reclamation will endeavor to create a working group that is grounded in the issues and opportunities encountered in the project area. Reclamation will select representatives from the community that can provide insights into their area of expertise related to resources or issues in the project area. Working group participants must be able to commit to attending up to five in-person workshops starting in November 2024 with meetings planned every 3-4 weeks until April 2025. The first working group meeting was held on November 13, 2024. Future meeting dates will be posted at this website, in news releases, and via the project mailing list.
Working Group Invitation
Reclamation invites any interested party with relevant expertise related to resources and issues occurring in the project area to submit a request to join the working group. The request should be sent to Jami Andersen, Project Manager via email at bor-sha-afrmp@usbr.gov or via postal mail at Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Snake Field Office, 470 Roger Ave., Heyburn, ID 83336.
