Recreation

The BLM is proposing to designate three special recreation management areas (SRMAs) within the Monument. SRMAs are areas where the existing or proposed recreation opportunities and recreation characteristics are recognized for their unique value and importance. The BLM is also proposing to close certain areas to recreational target shooting for public safety. This will help the BLM in its goal to provide recreational opportunities for visitors while protecting the public and the Monument's values.
