Lincoln National Forest Land Management Plan Revision and Environmental Impact Statement
Welcome and Introduction
Thank you for visiting the virtual public meeting website for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Lincoln National Forest Draft Land Management Plan Revision and Environmental Impact Statement.
On August 6, 2021, the Forest Service released the Lincoln National Forest’s Draft Land Management Plan (LMP) Revision and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (hereafter, Lincoln National Forest Draft LMP Revision and Draft EIS) for public review and comment. The Draft EIS analyzes a No Action Alternative and four action alternatives developed for the programmatic management of approximately 1.1 million acres of the Lincoln National Forest. The proposed action will replace the 1986 Lincoln National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan (1986 Forest Plan), and guide all management activities on the Lincoln National Forest. The 1986 Forest Plan (and the Draft LMP that will replace it) is the primary document guiding the Lincoln National Forest in meeting the Forest Service mission to manage lands for healthy, resilient ecosystems that meet the diverse needs of the American people.
The public has a variety of opportunities to comment in the public involvement process for the Draft LMP Revision and Draft EIS from August 6th, 2021 to November 5th, 2021. They can also attend one or more of the three virtual public meetings the Forest Service will be holding via Zoom on the following dates:
September 22, 2021 at 4:00 PM
September 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM
October 12, 2021 at 4:00 PM
Members of the public who wish to participate must register in advance by visiting the registration page. Attendees can join by computer or phone. The meetings will cover the Lincoln National Forest Draft LMP Revision and Draft EIS, the Forest Service planning process, and the NEPA process. Participants will have time to ask questions of the Lincoln NF staff and provide official verbal comments.
