Welcome to the Fuels Reduction and Rangeland Restoration (FRRR) Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) virtual public meeting.
BLM is preparing the FRRR Draft PEIS in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). We will be gathering information from other agencies, interested parties, and the public on the FRRR Draft PEIS. The FRRR Draft PEIS analyzes several options for carrying out fuels reduction and rangeland restoration projects. The project area covers nearly 223 million acres and includes portions of California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. The project’s purpose is to enhance the long-term function, viability, resistance and resilience of sagebrush communities in the project area. Functioning and viable sagebrush communities provide multiple-use opportunities for all user groups as well as habitat for sagebrush-dependent species.
The BLM invited the public to review and comment on the FRRR Draft PEIS. The Notice of Availability (NOA) for the FRRR Draft PEIS was published in the Federal Register on April 3, 2020. The publication of the NOA in the Federal Register began a 60-day comment period that started on April 3, 2020 and ended on June 2, 2020.
