FRRR Draft PEIS Virtual Public Meeting
Providing Comments
BLM wants your feedback
The BLM is requesting comments on the FRRR Draft PEIS. To be most helpful, your comments should be as specific as possible. When preparing your written comments, provide as much detail as possible and relate your comments back to the FRRR Draft PEIS including organizing comments by resource topic and relating to specific sections of the Draft PEIS. This will ensure that your comments are understood, and your concerns are fully addressed in the responses.
Substantive and useful comments do the following:
Question, with reasonable basis, the adequacy of the analysis
Present reasonable alternatives other than those presented in the FRRR Draft PEIS
Cause changes or revisions to the actions proposed in the alternatives.
Provide new information about the proposed project or suggest an alternative
Identify a different way to meet the project need
Suggest alternate methodologies for analysis and the reason(s) why they should be used
Make factual corrections, or identify sources of credible research or data
Comments that are less helpful and considered not substantive are those that:
Vote in favor of or against the proposed action
Agree or disagree with agency policy without justification or supporting data
Don’t pertain to the project area or the proposed project
Are vague, open-ended questions
Are generalized, covering many resource topics, without clear requests for change
Personal background information or stories that would not lend to changes in the FRRR Draft PEIS
