Comparing impacts across alternatives

Identifying and evaluating alternative ways for federal agencies to meet the purpose and need of a proposed action is the core of the NEPA analysis. For the NM Unit draft EIS, Reclamation and the ISC conducted detailed analysis of the no action alternative and the four action alternatives that substantially met the agencies' purpose and need. The results of those analyses are presented below by resource category to aid the public in comparing and contrasting the environmental effects of the various alternatives.
