Alternative A
Focus on protecting and enhancing natural ecology while emphasizing the protection of sensitive wildlife areas and ecological resources
Establish the greatest number and extent of specific measures to protect or enhance resource value to the surrounding community
Focus on utilizing uses and restrictions to minimize impacts on natural resources
Alternative B
Emphasis on preservation of Chacoan and cultural landscapes, and cultural properties—includes specific measures proposed by stakeholders
Development scenarios for allowable uses (such as mineral leasing) would emphasize protecting the natural and cultural landscapes
Appropriate and allowable uses and restrictions would emphasize avoiding or minimizing impacts on resources
Alternative C (Preferred Alternative)
Focus on balancing community needs and development while enhancing land health
Emphasize Tribal and local perspective of landscape and traditional lifeways
Allow development to occur in harmony with traditional, historic, socioeconomic, and cultural lifeways
Prioritize management with fewest impacts on human communities around oil and gas development

Maximize resources that target economic outcomes while sustaining land health
Development of fluid mineral resources would be promoted
