Water, Fish, Riparian, Soils, and Vegetation

The BLM identified specific habitats to apply management actions related to aquatic and vegetative resources. Management actions are detailed under the following habitat types:

  • Hot Springs

  • 100-year floodplains of high value watersheds

  • Lentic areas

  • Sensitive soils

  • Vegetative classes (alpine vegetation, lichen, pingos)

The BLM also identifies management actions related to the prevention of nonnative invasive species.
Area wide management decisions relative to the habitat types listed above can be found in the relevant sections of Chapter 2, Alternatives, of the Central Yukon RMP/EIS relative to these habitat areas.

For ACECs or RNAs that include specific soils, vegetative or riparian habitat as values, management actions associated with those ACECs are detailed in Appendix J, Land Management Allocations.

A detailed description of the Aquatic and Riparian Resource Desired Conditions and Objectives can be found in Appendix H, Aquatic and Riparian Resource Desired Conditions and Objectives, and a full listing of the Vegetative Communities and Wetland Resources can be found in Appendix O, Vegetation Communities and Wetland Resources.

Appendix F, Standard Operating Procedures and Fluid Mineral Leasing Stipulations, contains a listing of standard operating procedures that address these habitats in relation to permitted development activities.
